Thank you to all of our sponsors, speakers and delegates for making the AVCJ Private Equity & Venture Forum \ Japan such a success. The 10th annual conference saw 250 delegates hear measured but positive messages on Japan's mid-to-long term prospects.
Dr. Mark Mobius, Executive Chairman of Templeton Asset Management, and Jesper Koll, President & CEO of Tantallon Research, agreed that Japan's strong history of innovation and development, as displayed by its large, diffuse, and rapidly growing number of patent filings each year, spells good things for its future competitiveness on the world stage. Tetsuya Hamabe, a director at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, spoke about Japan’s tax code, laying bare its history, before uncovering currrent and future revisions to it that will benefit both corporate Japan and international limited partners.
On the final day the address by Tomoyoshi Uranishi, Senior Executive Officer at the TSE, highlighted steps the exchange is taking, together with its joint venture partner, London's AIM, to create a new small cap market below the main bourse, playing squarely to the SME sector that over the course of the three days became the prime focus of this year's event.
We look forward to seeing you again next year.
