Motoya Kitamura
Motoya is based in Macquarie Funds Group's Tokyo office. He is the key member of the Group's Funds of PE Funds team in Asia Pacific region, and leads its fund commitments, secondary transactions, co-investments, fundraising and client exploration activities in Japan. Until 2010 he was based in the Hong Kong office for 2.5 years. Motoya serves in the Advisory Board of J-STAR and DRC.
Prior to joining Macquarie in 2007, Motoya was based in Tokyo as an investment professional for Alternative Investment Capital, where he was involved in the due diligence and monitoring of private equity funds on global basis. Motoya participated in the private equity market initially as a research consultant for Mitsubishi Research Institute. Prior to joining Mitsubishi Research Institute, Motoya was a staff writer for Japanese business magazines and news services.
Motoya is also a Director at Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals in Japan (ACTP). He has published several books and numerous reports, articles and internet columns on the private equity industry. Motoya has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the Osaka University of Foreign Studies (currently Osaka University) and a Master of Arts in International Economics and International Relations from The Johns Hopkins University. Motoya is native in Japanese.
